Steyn City’s land art project is one of the many features which sets this ambitious residential lifestyle estate apart.
Our unique parkland residence is home to a number of larger-than-life sculptures and artworks that encourage residents and visitors to view their surrounds from a different perspective.
This is meant entirely literally: although the purpose of art is always to evoke emotion or stimulate new thinking, Steyn City’s land art pieces– created as part of a programme that includes the training of artists from Diepsloot amongst its aims – also encourage interaction. Forget the ‘touch me not’ inaccessibility of galleries: these pieces are to be climbed on, grasped, explored. And, in this way, they create a greater connection with the earth.
