For these potential buyers, Steyn City Properties has introduced a game-changing Rent to Own model. The model is equally attractive to people who are thinking of investing in a lock-up-and-go lifestyle, and would like to trial apartment living and do not wish to ‘waste’ money on rent while they experience it.
This option sees homeowners enter into two separate legal agreements with Steyn City Properties. Both agreements are signed at the commencement of their rental. The first is a 24-month lease agreement; the second is an option to purchase agreement. They need only exercise their purchase option in month 23 of their lease agreement; however, if they decide not to exercise the option to purchase the home at this time, they are able to continue leasing their property.
Lessees will enjoy significant cash flow benefits during their 24-month rental because of the difference between rental costs and typical bond repayments. At the same time, rates and taxes and levies are not payable during the two-year lease period.
