Steyn City is far more than an address; it is a legacy. From the very beginning, our shareholders envisioned a residential lifestyle estate whose impact would reach well beyond its gates. This vision led to the creation of the Steyn City Foundation, funded with 0.5% of all developer sales, to drive meaningful social impact in the neighbouring Diepsloot community.

Over the past fourteen years, the Foundation’s flagship initiative, Delivering Happiness to Diepsloot, has annually delivered school backpacks filled with stationery, toys, and treats to over 14,000 primary school learners across seven schools in the community.

Building on this spirit of care, the Foundation recently launched the Growzone. Evolving from a Food Security Programme started in 2014 by Auto & General, the Growzone now supports 24 vegetable gardens and two seedling nurseries, employs eight permanent staff, and ensures food security for 51 local Early Childhood Development Centres. To date, over 144,000 seedlings have been planted, more than 36 tons of vegetables harvested, and 3,300 children now receive a nutritious cooked meal five days a week.

In 2026, the Southern Guards GC Foundation (SGF), the official charitable arm of the all-South African golf team, Southern Guards GC, in partnership with LIV Golf, has extended the SGF Academy Development Programme into Gauteng. Forty young learners from Diepsloot primary schools, selected by the Steyn City Foundation, will have the opportunity to develop not just their golfing skills but also essential life skills. Greg Bentley, founder of the Element Golf Academy at Steyn City, explains that the 12-month programme is designed to cultivate well-rounded young individuals while nurturing the next generation of golfers.

Through these initiatives, Steyn City demonstrates that its legacy is measured not only in bricks and mortar but in the lives it touches, creating opportunities, building skills, and fostering hope for a brighter future.
