Our school campus is designed to ensure that your child reaps the benefits a future-focused education, with a syllabus and extracurricular programme that brings out their best. Your child will embark on their learning journey at our Early Learning Centre and continues at Steyn City Preparatory, where our outstanding facilities range from subject-specific classrooms (such as our media centre, science laboratory and music and drama departments) to sporting facilities, which include an indoor aquatic centre, a cricket oval and pavilion, an astro-turf hockey pitch and sports fields, and five multi-courts for tennis and netball. The school also has a multifunction hall and auditorium. This accent on learning as a holistic experience is mirrored at Steyn City College, where the emphasis is firmly on helping learners find their niche – and excel in it.
Early Years Centre
A wonderful start to learning: our Early Years Centre features six classrooms overlooking the sports fields, a purpose-built hall, and an undercover outdoor play area, providing protection from both inclement weather and strong sunshine. The EYC children are able to access the state-of-the-art aquatic centre with its learn to swim pool.
Steyn City Preparatory
Each of Steyn City Preparatory’s classrooms has been carefully designed to optimise the learning experience, with large external verandahs inviting the outdoors in. Special features include a state-of-the-art science laboratory, music and art rooms, incredible sporting facilities, as well as a tuck shop and cafeteria, and a 400m² media centre (The Hive). Steyn City School is a Microsoft Showcase School, and was the first school to achieve this global accreditation in less than one year.
From a sporting perspective, the school offers sports fields, a cricket oval and pavilion, an indoor aquatic centre, and five multi-courts, which may be used for tennis and netball. There is also a multifunction hall with state of the art sound and lighting equipment.
Steyn City College
With a strong accent on equipping learners to face the challenges of the future, Steyn City College focuses not only on mainstream subjects, but encourages learners to develop their talents in specialist areas like drama, physical and life sciences, technology and art, all taught in purpose-built facilities. The Hub stands out as an example of outstanding innovation: this is where technology-related subjects are taught, and it is linked to the school’s IT classrooms to create an interactive environment. The Hub’s interactive pod is another special feature, providing a space where students can attend workshops or work with visual material. Other facilities include a 300-seater tiered auditorium with pre-function area, a wet astro turf hockey pitch, complete with covered grandstand and electronic scoreboard, as well as sports fields and a coffee shop style canteen offering a variety of fresh, wholesome meals.
The area surrounding the campus is truly exceptional. Conscious of the effect the environment may have on learning, the architects and designers involved in the project have eschewed the institution-style grounds typical of most schools to create a beautifully landscaped garden, green belts and courtyards.
