We have developed a number of initiatives aiming to uplift the community through employment and skills development, such as our labour desk and on-site skills training centre. Our flagship project, Delivering Happiness to Diepsloot, provides a festive season boost to Diepsloot’s learners with deliveries of stationery, sweets and school bags.
Now, as the coronavirus lockdown threatens joblessness and a lack of income, many Diepsloot residents are worrying where their next meal is coming from. The Steyn City Foundation is delivering once again, this time ensuring that there is food on the table by donating packages of fresh, nutrient-rich, immune-boosting fruits and vegetables.
Our first delivery to 3 000 Diepsloot families was made ahead of the Easter weekend, with a second the week thereafter and more planned on a weekly basis. We have been fortunate to welcome Gift of the Givers on board, enabling us to reach more people and make a greater impact.
Our residents also have the opportunity to make a big difference – with your help, we’ll be able to reach even more Diepsloot families every week. Any donation, from food to money and even practical assistance, will be most appreciated.
To those of you who have already contributed, a very big thank you. Thank you, too, to our logistics partner, Bidvest International Logistics; the SAPS Douglasdale and Diepsloot; and Fidelity.
